There are an estimated 40 million widows in India. Widows are ostracized by society. Thousands of India's widows are found on side streets, hunched over with walking canes, their heads shaved and their pain etched by hundreds of deep wrinkles in their faces. These Hindu widows, the poorest of the poor, are shunned from society when their husbands die, not for religious reasons, but because of tradition -- and because they're seen as a financial drain on their families.

Our AGCM has
started supporting with 500 widows around villages. It has been a blessing for the ministry and all these widows were Hindus before but now some of them have found peace with God through Jesus Christ. Supporting widows is a good way for us to show the compassion of Jesus Christ to the poor.

The Lord watches over the Fatherless and Widows through us.
We invite the widows of 15 villages to our church property and host them for a good meal. It is available to anyone no matter what their religion is they are all welcome. Then we provide rice, coconut oil, soaps and some money to each one. If they need medicine or clothes we assist in this also as finances allow. This monthly outreach to the widows is an important testimony to all the villagers. When we care for the outcasts among them we are showing them the compassion of Jesus. We have a goal of supporting more than 2000 widows in our neighboring villages. The only thing preventing it now is lack of finances. Truly the fields are ripe for harvest…

The widow’s situation is much more extreme within some of Indian villages than in the cities because of age old traditions of viewing them as outcasts of society. This makes outreach to the village widows an extremely urgent need every month. Please consider a gift of $100.00 per month to help us give dignity back to these women who are unjustly discriminated against by society and suffering physically and emotionally.

James 2:14-17 : we can go real action by our Faith, What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
